Physicians of The Austin
Diagnostic Clinic (ADC) have elected new officers and board
members to the ADC Board of Directors for 2012-13, and also
recognized several physicians for their contributions to the
multi-specialty clinic.
Three incumbents were re-elected as board officers: Chairman
Paul
Moore, M.D., an endocrinologist, Secretary and Treasurer
Michael Schindel, M.D., a pulmonologist, and Vice Chairman
Dick Worrel, M.D., a pediatrician. Also elected to serve on
the board for his first term was
Rajeev Prakash, M.D., an internal medicine hospitalist.
Allergist
John Villacis, M.D., was also re-elected to the board.
Special honors went to several physicians for their service to
ADC.
Michele McDermott, M.D., founder and director of the
Menopause and Osteoporosis Center at ADC, was named Physician of
the Year and received the 2011 Distinguished Service Award. In
recognition of his extensive marketing support in 2011,
Gastroenterologist
Todd
Sheer, M.D., received the “Henry” award, named after ADC
founder Henry Renfert, M.D., for his participation in ADC’s
first online Twitter chat with patients.
Two ADC sections—cardiology and obstetrics/gynecology—received
the Annual Medical Continous Quality Improvement Award for
achieving the highest percentage of improvement on multiple
quality
measures during 2011. The award also cited the sections’
implementation of proactive processes to improve patient quality
of care.
ADC board members are elected to five-year terms and serve as
the leadership team responsible for the clinic’s overall
business and strategy. Other current board members are

Hood, M.D.; and rheumatologist

Tew, M.D.
