AUSTIN, TX—Physicians of The
Austin Diagnostic Clinic (ADC) have elected new officers and
board members to the ADC Board of Directors for 2010-11.
Paul Moore, M.D.,
an ADC endocrinologist, was re-elected Board Chairman, and
Michael Schindel,
M.D., an ADC pulmonologist,
was elected Board Secretary and Treasurer.
Dick Worrel, M.D., an ADC
pediatrician, was named Board Vice Chairman.
Monty Tew, M.D., an ADC
rheumatologist, was elected as a new board member. Dr. Tew
replaces
David Joseph, M.D., an ADC
family practitioner, whose term expired after 10 years as a
board member. Board members are elected to five-year terms and
serve as the leadership team responsible for ADC’s overall
business and strategy.
Continuing to serve as board members are
Laura Guerrero, M.D., an
ADC internal medicine physician;
Patrick Nolan, M.D., an ADC
neurologist;
Michael Ross, M.D., an ADC
surgeon; Michael Schindel, M.D., an ADC pulmonologist; Dick
Worrel, M.D., an ADC pediatrician;
Jerry Hood, M.D., an ADC
internal medicine physician; and
Tom Brown, M.D., an ADC
surgeon.
In addition to the board elections, special honors went to
several physicians for their service to The Austin Diagnostic
Clinic. Dr. David Joseph, who has served various officer
positions on the board for the past decade, was named Physician
of the Year and received the 2009 Distinguished Service Award.
“Dr. Joseph has been a key part of ADC’s success over the years,
and we certainly believe his contributions will continue to
guide our efforts to address our community’s health needs in the
future,” said Dr. Moore. “He is a proven leader, and we will
always be indebted to Dr. Joseph for his years of service as a
board officer.”
Two physicians at The Austin Diagnostic Clinic won the Good
Pick-Up Award, which is conferred by peers to acknowledge
excellence in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases.
Kara Dlabal, M.D., an ADC
cardiologist, was awarded for her distinguished work on complex
coronary artery disease, and
Bruce Page, M.D., with
ADC’s family practice, was recognized for his work with the
chronic lung disease Kartagener’s Syndrome.
In addition, three physicians received the “Henry” award, named
after ADC founder Henry Renfert, M.D., for their extensive
marketing support in 2009, which included numerous interviews
for television, newspapers, and magazines. The winners were
Michael Romain, M.D., an
ADC internal medicine physician,
Beth Nauert, M.D., an ADC
pediatrician, and
John Villacis, M.D., an ADC
allergist.
