The Austin Diagnostic Clinic: Let Our Family Care for Your Family

ADC Optical Shop
Eyeglasses after Cataract Surgery for Medicare Patients

Approximately  four weeks after your cataract surgery, your doctor will determine a new prescription for your post-operative eyeglasses.

The Austin Diagnostic Clinic Optical Shop will accept assignment for Medicare claims for post-operative eyeglasses.

Medicare patients, have a benefit to help pay for post-operative eyeglasses.  Medicare's guidelines approve payments of 80% towards a basic pair of lenses and a frame purchased after each cataract surgery.  The remaining 20% may be covered by your secondary insurance.

The ADC Optical Shop has a selection of frames that are covered by Medicare.  Our helpful opticians will be happy to show you this selection.  You may choose to upgrade beyond Medicare's basic provisions and pay the out-of-pocket difference for items, such as:

bullet a deluxe frame
bullet progressive lenses
bullet anti-reflective treatments
bullet transitions treatments
bullet specialty lenses (ie: high-index materials)

If you have specific questions about your new eyeglasses after cataract surgery, please stop by the ADC Optical Shop or call 512/901-4527.  Our opticians are familiar with the Medicare guidelines for post-operative eyeglasses.
