A Message to
Medicare Advantage Plan Members:
The Medicare Advantage
Plans are an alternative to the traditional Medicare
coverage provided under Part B of the Medicare program.
These alternative plans came about as a result of the
Balanced Budget Act of 1997 and the Medicare Modernization
Act of 2003 enacted by Congress and signed into law by the
President.
The Austin
Diagnostic Clinic has decided not to participate as
providers in any Medicare Advantage Plan. Our physicians
only see patients covered by traditional Medicare Part
B coverage. While some of the Medicare Advantage plans may
offer an out-of-network option, ADC has also decided not to
participate as out-of-network providers in any of the
Medicare Advantage plans in the Austin area.
If you choose to drop your
traditional Medicare Part B coverage and switch to one of
these Advantage Plans, you will no longer be able to receive
medical care from ADC physicians.
If you have already chosen to
participate in one of these Medicare Advantage Plans, please
write or call your Advantage Plan and ask them if you can
discontinue your coverage or call Medicare at 1-800-Medicare
(1-800-633-4227). If you convert back to traditional
Medicare, this will make it possible to continue your health
care with your Austin Diagnostic Clinic physician(s).
We hope you will continue
to participate in Medicare Part B. Medicare Part B has
provided access to quality care for millions of older
Americans. It is a program we can rely on with dependable
rules and procedures that people over 65 can trust.
